Tu Meke Tuatara! is a story about empathy, friendship and discovering that sometimes the best way to feel good about ourselves, is to help someone else.
This is the second in a beautiful series by Malcolm Clarke, the first one is called Tu Meke Tui. Like the Tu Meke Tui, this is also illustrated by Flox, a well-loved Auckland artist known for her bright, bold graffiti art. Her trademark native birds, animals and plants are lush and gorgeous and make you want to turn the page to see her vibrant depictions of the bush, tuatara and birds in this delightful book.
The back pages have a 'Did you Spot this Section' which lists all the plants and animals which live in the same environment as the tuatara. This adds another extra dimension to an already fabulous book.
This is a beautiful paperback book measuring 24cm x 24cm.
Recommended reading level 2-6 years of age but it's a great book that everyone can enjoy.
