This marvellous little book of New Zealand colloquialisms is both informative and amusing. It covers everything from slang to amusing synonyms to classic Kiwi sayings.
The book, created hastily as a final art project for Lucy Kirkwood's graphic design degree, has proven very popular and is now onto its third edition.
It contains clever updates on traditional kiwi sayings as well as new editions to our colourful language.
Some of our favourites are
Hangry - being so hungry it makes you angry
Hiberdating - Somene who ignores all their other friends when they are dating a boyfriend/girlfriend.
Lego Hair - A particularly shitty male haircut in which the sides cover the ears and the hair appears to be 'snap on.'
It's a well put together book with lovely graphics and is highly amusing.
The Official NZ Dictionary of Colloquialisms makes a great gift.
