These beautiful little porcelain bowls are made in Auckland by potter, Michelle Bow.
She makes them by hand pressing real Pohutukawa and Kawakawa leaves into the bowl to get the shape and contour of the leaf. Then a delicate copper glaze is washed over the top. (last image shows the bowls being made with the leaves pressed into them)
Each bowl is slightly different because of this process.
The bowls are small and delicate each measuring approx 7-8cms across.
