These premium soothing and healing balms are largely made up of incredible New Zealand herbs and are made by OKU.
OKU is Scott Smith, a medical herbalist and naturopath who has been working in the natural healthcare industry for 20 years, and his wife Helen Paul-Smith.
They formed OKU "to harness the wealth of Aotearoa's native plants that have a rich history of traditional use plants into a product range that can help people rediscover and experience the amazing properties held within our ngahere (forests)."
Kawakawa Healing Balm contains soothing and healing ingredients such as New Zealand Kawakawa and Houhere herbs, as well as Calendula Flower and New Zealand Hemp Seed Oils. These are combined with the beneficial properties of German Chamomile and Mānuka Essential Oils in a 100% natural base of Fair Trade Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, and New Zealand Beeswax. It is gentle enough for use on delicate baby skin, but also effective for addressing various skin concerns in adults. Good for eczema, dermatitis, bites, acne, stings, small cuts, sunburn and other mild burns, nappy rash, lip balm, general moisturiser for dry skin and beard balm.
Kawakawa & Arnica Balm - a warming & soothing herbal formula that gives effective relief to pain, inflammation or trauma to muscles and joints. The two stars of the blend that work incredibly well together are wild-hand-harvested Kawakawa & New Zealand grown Arnica that both have anti-inflammatory properties. These are then blended with wild and hand harvested New Zealand Horopito and Tutu with Cayenne. Together these herbs provide a broad range of properties to help amplify and complement the Kawakawa & Arnica. The herbs are supported with the analgesic qualities of Peppermint & Clove Essential oils and the New Zealand First Light essence remedy for trauma Akeake. Good for sprains and strains, bruising, sports injuries, rheumatism and arthritis, inflammation and pain.
