The Buzzy Bee is one of New Zealand’s most famous icons.
Buzzy Bee uses bold colour, sound and movement to capture children’s attention and has become a favourite toy in New Zealand and around the world. Prince William had one as a baby. When pulled along, the buzzy bee makes a clicking sound and its wings spin around.
Generations of little New Zealanders have pulled Buzzy Bees around since the mid 1940's. The original design has changed very little since its invention by two Auckland brothers Hec and John Ramsey.
Buzzy Bees are both mostly made of wood and painted with non-toxic paint.
