These 'Metalbirds' are a beautiful and strong sculptural statement for your garden or house. Metal bird was started in New Zealand in 2009, as a street art project and has since grown to a successful business adding to the range of beautiful birds that look amazing in your garden, adding depth and interest.
Hammer them into a tree, fence or building and they will look great and cast a fabulous shadow.
Hammering the metal bird into a tree will not cause any long-term damage, you may see the plant leaking sap at first, but this will heal quickly.
'Metalbirds' are designed and created in Auckland and are made out of 3mm Corten® (corten copper chromium alloy steel, ) which is weather resistant. It is designed to rust quickly, which gives a layer of protection. It means that Metalbirds last for decades, with a rugged patina that changes with the seasons and looks great amongst plants and the outdoor environment.
The cheeky little Fantail stands 180mm high and the elegant Tui is 260mm tall while the big proud Kereru is 310mm long and the very popular Mother and Chic Fantails at 180mm and 80mm high.
There's the little Black Robin (which almost died out in the 70's) the fearless and noble Kingfisher and the wise Ruru or native Owl which stands 300mm high. Also in the metal Bird family are the rare Kokako which is life-size at 280mm from tip to tail, the gorgeous Lovebird Sparrows. A new addition to the Metal Bird family is the proud and fearless NZ Native falcon, the Karearea. This stunning bird silhouette is 30cm high.
There are also the X-Large Metal Birds - the mighty Kereru, Fantail, Ruru and Tui now come in a larger, more majestic size. Great for big open spaces and large gardens
The Large Kereru is 390 x 270mm including foliage, the Monumental Tui stands at 370 x 200, slightly larger than life at 300 x 400 mm is the Ruru, while the Great Fantail is 400 x 180 including the foliage.
