This is a wonderful book for anyone that is interested in gardening, growing beautiful blooms and making wonderful, wild flower arrangements.
Written by New Zealander Julia Atkinson-Dunn it is full of practical advice about how to start a garden, what to plant and pick and handy tips on how to arrange flowers so they look magnificent in the vase. Her style is contemporary and informal, yet her floral arrangements are nothing short of magnificent, and she uses quite common plants and flowers. One of her all-time favourites is fennel and reading this book has made me want to plant it too whereas I'd previously thought of it as a weed.
She describes this book as a "cheerleader, offering you a smile and steadying words to help you plot your own gardening adventure". (I've been gardening for years and found this book full of helpful tips and tricks I didn't know.)
Beautiful as a coffee table book but also a practical guide and inspirational garden book. This makes a lovely gift.
"Gardening is not a talent, it is a world to be explored and interpreted as you will" Julia Atkinson-Dunn.
