These pendants are made of pounamu and have a koru carved into them.
The koru represents the unfolding frond of the native fern and symbolises a new beginning, hope for the future. It is an often seen symbol in Maori art and design.
When the koru is carved into stone it is a symbol of strength and a positive future for the wearer.
The pendants are individually carved from pounamu found in the South Island of New Zealand by the skilled carvers at Mana Jade, Taupo.
The circle pendant measures approx 20mm across while the trapezium pendant is approx 38 x 23 x 12. Both come with a black waxed cord that is adjustable.
Each piece will vary in colour as that is the nature and beauty of pounamu. Please let us know if you would like a particular shade of pounamu and we will do our best to match from our stock.
